Sunday Morning: Hunting and Eating

Just another story of mine. This sunday we went to Tha Ling Chan floating market, a tourism-artificial-market located at Tha Ling Chan, Bangkok Noi, Thailand. We stayed in Mr. Hamam’s apartment, a friend of us who almost has a free time to accompany us to go everywhere, in Thailand. Today was a special day. We wanted to try our luck taking sunrise picture at Tha Ling Chan floating market.

We started our journey at 5.30 am. After subuh praying, we walked along street side to look for a taxi. It wasn’t so far, however we’d prefer to take a taxi in order to save our energy :). Fortunately, an available city taxi came to us and soon went to our destination. “Ups…it was too early to come here,” Mr. Hamam said to us. A few people came to the market this morning, still preparing their boat for a long trip on Chao Praya river. After waiting for about 30 minutes, we didn’t get what we wanted before. The cloud obstructed the sunrise. Too bad for taking a picture. “Okay nevermind, then. We will go accross the river and looked some interesting spot there to take some pictures,” said Mr. Hamam.

The main river was approximately 10 minutes far from the market. Chao Praya river wasn’t so interesting in the morning and afternoon. The river was so messy. At lof of junk and bottles floated on the river. It wasn’t as beautiful as in the evening when we can only see the temple, not the messy things on the river.
Thus, not so many interesting spot to take some picture then. Just took some group pictures, Wat Arun, and…..finish. The journey was continued to Saphan Thaksin area, a famous place to buy Halal Food. The cooking plan was just start here. We then looked for some halal meat, goat meat actually, to cook “Tongseng Kambing”. The price wasn’t so expensive, compared to the other market at Bangkok city. The photograph hunting journey was changed to shopping journey then :). The people looked us as weird men walking through the market bringing a DSLR Camera and tripod.”What the heck are they doing here? Bringing camera and tripod inside the market, silly…,” probably thought by the people. We just didn’t care. Just wanted to buy some foods and went back to Mr. Hamam’s apartment.

At 10.00 am, the journey ended. We started to prepare the Tongseng Kambing. Onions, meat, tomatoes, and many more. It was a funny day. What do you think about four adult men trying to cook an intermediate-difficulty-level Indonesian food? The result wasn’t so disappointing. At least, if we didn’t get some pictures, we can have enough time to eat our favorite food.

What a great day !
